Community Guidelines
Effective date: July 10, 2026
The Vibe works because every member is a verified adult who agreed to keep this a good place. Here is the deal, in plain language. For the full legal terms, see our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Platonic only — not a dating app
- The Vibe is for friend-group chat and clubs. It is not for dating, hookups, flirting, or sexual content.
- AI companions are platonic friends — never romantic partners. Do not try to turn them into one.
- Friend connections and parlor (private 1:1 chat) are platonic social features — not dating tools.
- Report sexual or dating-oriented behavior using the in-app report tool.
18+ identity verification
The Vibe is strictly 18+ worldwide. After you confirm your email and finish onboarding, you must complete Didit digital identity assurance (government ID scan plus camera-based liveness check) before accessing clubs, parlor, discovery, AI companions, notifications, or paid plans. We store only a verified badge and your age — never your ID document, legal name, or photo.
Attempting to bypass age verification, use a fake ID, or create accounts for minors is an immediate ban offense.
Be a good club member
- Banter, debate, and dark humor between friends are welcome. Cruelty is not.
- No harassment, hate speech, threats, or pile-ons.
- No sexual content. No flirting, dating solicitation, or romantic pursuit of members or AI companions.
- No spam, scams, multi-level marketing, or self-promo floods.
- Venting about hardship, grief, or mental health is OK — that’s what friends are for.
- Respect club rules, admission queues, and democratic votes. Leaders serve the club — not the other way around.
Friends, parlor, and blocks
- Add friends by username (handle). Either person can decline, unfriend, or block. Blocking is immediate — blocked members cannot message you, find you in discovery, or see your optional city.
- Parlor is private, human-only 1:1 text between accepted friends. AI companions never join parlor — they stay in clubs.
- Parlor messages go through the same safety checks as club messages, but companions do not reply there. Report or block from any parlor thread.
- Read receipts in parlor are optional. If either person turns them off in Settings, neither sees delivery/read ticks for that chat.
- Do not use friend requests, parlor, or blocks to harass someone or evade a club ban.
Protect privacy — yours and everyone’s
- Never share anyone’s precise address, workplace, school, or private contact details — including your own.
- Doxxing gets you banned platform-wide, immediately.
- We never use GPS or precise location. Optional city on profiles is manual, city-level only — never neighborhood or distance. Tags drive discovery; city is an optional soft nudge when both members opt in.
- You control city visibility in Settings: off by default, friends only, or all members.
About the AI companions
- Companions are AI and always labeled. They will confirm it if you ask.
- Companions live in clubs only — not in parlor. A director picks who speaks; each reply is reviewed before it appears.
- Private companions you design for your clubs have light review; public directory companions get extra checks before listing.
- Premium and Elite members may publish companions to the community directory. Other members may adopt (fork) a public design into a private copy on their own account — you can only edit companions you created or adopted.
- Don’t create companions that impersonate real celebrities or public figures — use fictional names.
- Don’t use companions to generate content that breaks these rules.
- If a companion says something harmful or strange, report it.
AI companion sessions and fair use
Chatting with human friends in clubs is not daily-capped. What we limit is AI companion sessions — each time you send a message in a club with seated companions and Gemini generates replies. Limits reset daily (UTC) and depend on your plan:
- Free: 60 AI companion sessions per day
- Premium: 350 AI companion sessions per day
- Elite: 1,500 AI companion sessions per day
When you hit your limit, your messages still send — friends still see them. Companions simply pause until tomorrow or until you upgrade. Don’t spam clubs to burn someone else’s session budget or abuse rate limits (30 messages per minute).
Separate limits apply to companion designs, AI seats in clubs you lead, and how many clubs you can lead. See Settings → Membership or our landing page for current numbers.
Invites and referrals
You may share a personal workspace invite link (Settings). When someone joins through your link, completes onboarding, and passes ID verification, you may earn bonus companion-design slots and AI seating capacity — within published caps. Fake accounts, self-referrals, and verification fraud forfeit bonuses and can end your membership.
Room safety and helper connections
Real talk between friends is what this app is for — but AI companions are not therapists or crisis counselors.
Privacy-first room safety: Smart context filtering helps keep clubs stable. Severe distress signals may trigger confidential in-app helper connections instead of continuing a harmful thread. In group clubs, other members never see the intercepted message; they only see a generic notice that a participant stepped away, so your privacy is preserved.
Room-local pause, not a ban: A severe intercept pauses messaging in that club only. Use “Return to main dashboard” to leave and visit other clubs. You are not permanently locked out of The Vibe.
Gaslighting & abuse: If you share gaslighting, isolation, or psychological abuse, companions adapt to validate your experience and counteract doubt — never to dismiss you or imply you are overreacting.
Helper resources use a tiered fallback (browser locale hint → network country hint → findahelpline.com). Crisis routing never uses your optional profile city. All safety interventions use private, confidential in-app helper connections.
- US & Canada: call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or text HOME to 741741
- UK & Ireland: Samaritans 116 123
- Australia: Lifeline 13 11 14
- Anywhere: findahelpline.com
- Immediate danger: call your local emergency number (911, 999, 000, 112, etc.)
How moderation works
The Vibe is a group chat between real people and AI companions, plus private human parlor — not a private 1:1 bot app. That changes how we moderate:
- Your messages to clubs and parlor: we run a narrow pre-send check before your message is stored — illegal content is blocked immediately; masked lethal-intent may trigger a private room safety flow (other members never see the triggering text in group clubs); high-confidence sexual, dating, harassment, or hate speech is blocked because other members would otherwise see it in realtime. Ordinary venting, hardship, and friend banter pass through. When the automated check is unsure, your message is allowed — use Report for the rest.
- AI companion replies (clubs only): your message is not held waiting for companions to finish thinking. Companions generate responses afterward; each reply is filtered on the output side (model safety settings plus automated review) before it appears. Unsafe companion text is replaced with supportive fallbacks or withheld.
- Multiple companions: a director picks who speaks; each speaker is reviewed independently. Companions are always labeled AI.
Reporting and enforcement
- Every club message, parlor message, member, companion, and club has a report button.
- Club leaders and moderators handle club-level issues (kicks, bans, admission).
- Club democracy can overrule a leader — that’s by design.
- We act platform-wide on safety reports: warnings, restrictions, or permanent bans.
- Use Report for anything the automated filters miss — human review follows.
Repeated or severe violations end your membership. We’d rather have fewer, better clubs than more, worse ones.
