Community Guidelines

Effective date: July 28, 2026

The Vibe works because every member is a verified adult who agreed to keep this a good place. Here is the deal, in plain language. For the full legal terms, see our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Copyright and notice-and-takedown.

Consent-first adult community

The Vibe is an 18+ community club network — not a dating, romance, or AI-girlfriend/boyfriend product.
Consent is required. Stop when someone declines, blocks you, or asks you to stop. Persistent unwanted pursuit is harassment.
No explicit sexual content, NSFW/ERP, sexual solicitation, or sexual roleplay — including with AI assistants.
AI assistants are strictly platonic companions / practice partners — no flirting, romance, dating, or intimate roleplay with them.
No coercion, stalking, romance scams, pressure for money/gifts, or unsafe pressure for location/contact/offline meetups.
Public clubs: AI assistants will not matchmake members, arrange offline dates, or push romantic pairings between strangers. Public clubs are social rooms, not a dating marketplace.
Report sexual content, coercion, scams, or harassment using the in-app report tool.

Creative fiction & club roleplay

Collaborative creative writing, fictional roleplay, text adventures, and scene-based banter in clubs are welcome among verified adults — especially when real people are in the room with labeled AI assistants.

When founding a club, choose private (default — invite or link only) or public (may appear in Discover). This cannot be changed later — pick carefully if other members will join.
Use club focus to set the shared thread (e.g. a co-writing sprint or fiction night) and optional assistant roles to cast who does what in the scene.
Optional room language focus lets a club practice a target language together — tagged # assistants stay in that language like locals abroad; humans chatting with @ are not interrupted unless someone tags an assistant. Assistants follow the club’s room focus only — not another member’s private practice languages. Use Language Coach on any incoming message for a private translation, how-you’d-say-it tip, natural next reply, or phrase you can save to club mementos — never to harass someone about their grammar. Language Coach is fun immersion practice, not a formal course or certification, and does not include voice features. For full chat-first practice from zero toward fluency, open Language Guide (Luma) from Settings — a private practice room with a unified per-language score and automatic spaced review. Guides are strictly platonic practice partners (as are all AI assistants on The Vibe); do not use them for romance or intimate roleplay. You may seat a different Guide from our roster in that practice room; progress still stays unified on your language, not scattered per Guide. Optional Practice Guides (also from Settings) open the same private path + spaced-recall flow for allowed skill domains, with real retrieval cards (not empty placeholders). Luma is the default Guide character for both Language Guide and Practice Guide rooms. Ultra-strict topic filters block medical, legal, financial, clinical, adult, and high-stakes credential topics. Practice is entertainment / skill rehearsal — not a school and not professional advice. Club leaders may enable a soft Practice link so members can open private Practice toward a club topic; scores stay private and never gate membership.
The assistants and guides are ours — you cannot create, publish, or adopt an AI character here. Every one is written as an adult (18+), and there are no child or teen characters anywhere on The Vibe. They are strictly platonic companions / practice partners; sexual content and romantic/intimate AI partnering are not allowed.
Do not impersonate real celebrities or public figures. Do not use fiction to sexualize minors or real people.
AI replies are machine-generated entertainment — not professional advice and not a substitute for human relationships or crisis care.

18+ identity verification

The Vibe is strictly 18+ worldwide. Right after you confirm your email — before profile setup — you must complete Didit digital identity assurance (government ID scan plus live face match) before accessing onboarding, clubs, parlor, discovery, AI assistants, notifications, or paid plans. We store only a verified badge and your age — never your ID document, legal name, face, or photo.

Attempting to bypass age verification, use a fake ID, or create accounts for minors is an immediate ban offense.

Be a good club member

Banter, debate, and dark humor between people are welcome. Cruelty is not.
No harassment, hate speech, threats, or pile-ons.
No explicit sexual content. Warm banter is fine; coercion and unwanted pursuit are not.
No spam, scams, multi-level marketing, or self-promo floods.
No posting, pasting, importing, or linking material you do not have rights to use — including other people’s writing, images, or media. Shared web links may show an Open Graph preview card (public metadata only). Copyright and formal notice-and-takedown: Copyright page.
Public feed: Use the post ⋯ menu to hide a post, mute someone, follow/unfollow, block, or report a post or person. Reports go to human review. Soft mutes are managed in Settings → Muted & hidden on the feed; blocks are separate. We do not use Community Notes style crowd labels — verified-member reporting and staff review cover illegal and harmful content.
Venting about hardship, grief, or mental health is OK — that’s what community is for.
Respect club rules, admission queues, and democratic votes. Leaders serve the club — not the other way around.
Channels, threads, and posts: In social clubs, keep topic conversations in the right channel when staff have created them. Use side threads for digressions so the main feed stays readable. Titled posts are for longer plans, stories, and recaps — comments belong in the post’s thread. Don’t spam new channels or flood every space with the same message.
AI Organizer: If a club leader enables it, AI may suggest new channels from chat patterns. Only leaders and moderators approve or dismiss suggestions — the AI never applies them alone. Do not treat a suggestion as a rule until staff accept it.
Club invite prompts: A club leader may optionally enable soft invite tools in General (device share sheet, in-app follow invites, and — for public clubs only — a draft you can edit before posting to the public feed). Nothing auto-posts into chat or the feed. Members can dismiss the prompt. Do not spam invites, scrape contacts, farm referrals, or flood the feed with the same link.

Follows, parlor, and blocks

Follow people by username (handle). Either person can unfollow or block. Blocking is immediate — blocked members cannot message you, find you in discovery, or see your optional city.
Parlor is private, human-only 1:1 text when one of you follows the other (or both). AI assistants never join parlor — they stay in clubs.
Parlor messages go through the same safety checks as club messages, but assistants do not reply there. Report or block from any parlor thread.
Read receipts in parlor are optional. If either person turns them off in Settings, neither sees delivery/read ticks for that chat.
Emoji reactions work in parlor the same way as clubs — one reaction per person per message.
Do not use follows, parlor, or blocks to harass someone or evade a club ban.

Club Ledger (Mementos & Highlights)

Mementos are memories you pin from club chat. You own the mementos you create — only you can edit or delete them. They are visible to active members of that club.
Highlights are AI recaps generated after a club goes quiet for about 15 minutes. They are shared club memory (not private per-user copies). Club leaders and moderators may edit or remove them. You may rate accuracy with thumbs up/down.
Ledger memory is used only within that club — including to help seated AI assistants reply with better context. It is never merged across clubs.
Do not pin or summarize others’ private contact details, medical information, or anything that would violate these guidelines.

Protect privacy — yours and everyone’s

Never share anyone’s precise address, workplace, school, or private contact details — including your own.
Doxxing gets you banned platform-wide, immediately.
We never use GPS or precise location. Optional city on profiles is manual, city-level only — never neighborhood or distance. Tags drive discovery; city is an optional soft nudge when both members opt in.
You control city visibility in Settings: off by default, following connections only, or all members.

About the AI assistants

Assistants are AI and always labeled. They will confirm it if you ask. They also use your detected timezone to provide more contextually relevant interactions.
In clubs with a room language focus, tagged assistants reply in that language like locals while keeping their persona. They follow the club focus only — not another member’s private practice languages. Language practice is welcome; pedantic corrections and mockery are not. There is no voice Language Coach feature.
Assistants live in clubs only — not in parlor. A director picks who speaks; each reply is reviewed before it appears.
The roster is ours. There is no character builder, no community directory, and no forking — nobody on The Vibe can create, publish, rate, or sell an AI character. A club leader invites one of our assistants in and can remove it whenever they like.
Assistants never impersonate a real person and never claim to be human. If one ever seems to, report it.
Don’t use assistants to generate content that breaks these rules.
If an assistant says something harmful or strange, report it.

AI assistant sessions and fair use

Chatting with humans in clubs is not daily-capped. What we limit is AI assistant sessions — each time you send a message in a club with seated assistants and Gemini generates replies. Limits reset daily (UTC) and depend on your plan:

Free: 60 AI assistant sessions per day
Pro Host: 350 AI assistant sessions per day
Elite Host: 1,500 AI assistant sessions per day

When you hit your daily limit, your messages still send — people still see them. Assistants simply pause until tomorrow, until you upgrade, or until you spend bonus AI assistant sessions earned from referrals / Founding Member welcome rewards. Sessions use The Vibe’s managed platform AI credits — we do not currently support bring-your-own API keys. Don’t spam clubs to burn someone else’s session budget or abuse rate limits (30 messages per minute).

Hosting a paid club

You can charge a monthly membership for a club you lead. If you do, members are buying from you, not from The Vibe — we just process the payment and take a fee. Enabling payouts means agreeing to our Paid clubs, refunds, and payouts page and the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. That comes with three plain obligations.

Deliver what you promised. Show up, keep the club running, and give paying members the thing they paid for.
Be honest in your club description. It is your offer. Don’t promise activity, access, or people you can’t provide.
Refund promptly when you can’t deliver. If you go quiet, close the club, or change what it is, refund the members who lose out. It is faster and cheaper than a chargeback, and it is the right thing to do.

Charging money never buys different rules — these guidelines apply inside paid clubs exactly as they do everywhere else. Fraud, non-delivery, and a pattern of chargebacks get a paid club suspended and payouts paused. Full terms: Paid clubs, refunds, and payouts.

Invites and referrals

You may share a personal invite link (Settings → Invite). When someone joins through your link, passes ID verification, and completes onboarding, you earn 20% of the platform revenue we make from them — their plan, and our fee when they join a paid club — for as long as they stay. Commission is held 30 days so refunds can settle, then paid out monthly once your balance reaches $20 and your Stripe payout account is ready. You can earn before Stripe setup; unpaid balances accrue but are not sent until Connect payouts are enabled. Commission is your taxable income where applicable. Unpaid balances are forfeited if you delete your account before payout. They get 100 welcome bonus AI assistant sessions and Founding Member recognition. Invite 3 verified people and you may unlock a free month of Pro Host. Top 50 referrers each month who opt in may get a public club featured in Discover — a spotlight, not a score of personal worth. Fake accounts, self-referrals, and verification fraud void the commission and can end your membership. Details: Paid clubs, refunds, and payouts.

Room safety and helper connections

Real talk between people is what this app is for — but AI assistants are not therapists or crisis counselors.

Privacy-first room safety: Smart context filtering helps keep clubs stable. Severe distress signals may trigger confidential in-app helper connections instead of continuing a harmful thread. In group clubs, other members never see the intercepted message; they only see a generic notice that a participant stepped away, so your privacy is preserved.

Room-local pause, not a ban: A severe intercept pauses messaging in that club only. Use “Return to main dashboard” to leave and visit other clubs. You are not permanently locked out of The Vibe.

Gaslighting & abuse: If you share gaslighting, isolation, or psychological abuse, assistants adapt to validate your experience and counteract doubt — never to dismiss you or imply you are overreacting.

Helper resources use a tiered fallback (browser locale hint → network country hint → findahelpline.com). Crisis routing never uses your optional profile city. All safety interventions use private, confidential in-app helper connections.

How moderation works

The Vibe is a group chat between real people and AI assistants, plus private human parlor — not a private 1:1 bot app. That changes how we moderate:

Your messages to clubs and parlor: we run a narrow pre-send check before your message is stored — illegal content is blocked immediately; masked lethal-intent may trigger a private room safety flow (other members never see the triggering text in group clubs); high-confidence sexual/explicit content, coercion, harassment, or hate speech is blocked because other members would otherwise see it in realtime. Ordinary venting, hardship, and warm banter pass through. When the automated check is unsure, your message is allowed — use Report for the rest.
AI assistant replies (clubs only): your message is not held waiting for assistants to finish thinking. Assistants generate responses afterward; each reply is filtered on the output side (model safety settings plus automated review) before it appears. Unsafe assistant text is replaced with supportive fallbacks or withheld.
Multiple assistants: a director picks who speaks; each speaker is reviewed independently. Assistants are always labeled AI.

Reporting and enforcement

Every club message, parlor message, member, assistant, and club has a report button.
Use Report for harassment, hate, sexual content, scams, impersonation, possible minors, copyright/IP, and anything else that looks illegal or harmful — including material our automated filters miss.

Club leaders and moderators handle club-level issues (kicks, bans, admission).
Club democracy can overrule a leader — that’s by design.
We act platform-wide on safety and illegal-content reports: remove or disable material, warn, restrict, or permanently ban. We aim to review reports promptly; severe illegal content is prioritized.

Repeated or severe violations end your membership. We’d rather have fewer, better clubs than more, worse ones.

Leaving The Vibe

You can delete your account in Settings → Data & account. Type DELETE MY ACCOUNT to confirm — it cannot be undone. Disband any club you lead that still has other members before deleting (disbanding cancels their paid memberships). Parlor threads are removed for both people. Club messages you sent may stay in shared rooms as “Former member.” Billing cancels immediately; unpaid referral or host balances still in clearing are forfeited.
