Copyright and notice-and-takedown
Effective date: July 28, 2026
This page explains how to notify us about alleged copyright infringement on The Vibe, and how we handle other illegal-content notices. It sits alongside our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
1. What The Vibe stores vs. what it embeds
Members post text and links in clubs (including Core), parlor, and the public feed. We store that user-generated content so the Service can display it. When someone pastes a YouTube, Loom, Vimeo, or Google Drive link, we typically render the provider’s own player or preview (an embed). We store the URL — we do not host the underlying video or file bytes on The Vibe. When someone shares another public web link in club chat or Club Core, we may fetch publicly available Open Graph / social-card metadata to show a rich preview card; preview images load from the publisher’s servers, not ours.
You remain responsible for content you post, paste, import, or link. Do not upload, paste, or link material you lack rights to use.
2. Designated copyright agent (DMCA)
For notices of claimed copyright infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512), contact our designated agent:
- Agent: Masud Uddin Ahmed, d/b/a The Vibe
- Email: hello@thevibe.chat — put Copyright Notice or DMCA in the subject line
- Service: thevibe.chat
- Jurisdiction: United States (Operator based in the United States; Terms governed by New York law)
If you need a physical mailing address for formal service or Copyright Office agent paperwork, email hello@thevibe.chat with the subject Copyright agent address and we will provide it.
3. What to include in a copyright notice
To help us act quickly, your written notice should include substantially the following (aligned with 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)):
- A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or a representative list if multiple works)
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, and information reasonably sufficient for us to locate it on The Vibe (for example club name, Core piece title, message/post URL or ID, username/handle, and approximate date/time)
- Your contact information (name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address)
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed
Incomplete notices may delay action. We may forward a copy of your notice to the member who posted the material.
4. Counter-notification
If your material was removed or disabled following a copyright notice and you believe that happened because of mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to the same agent email with Copyright Counter-Notice in the subject line. Include:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the material that was removed or disabled, and where it appeared before removal
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district where your address is located (or, if outside the United States, for any judicial district in which The Vibe may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original notice or their agent
After a valid counter-notification, we may restore the material unless the original complainant seeks a court order as provided by law.
5. Repeat infringers
We may terminate accounts of members who are repeat copyright infringers in appropriate circumstances, and we may remove or disable access to allegedly infringing material. Abuse of the notice process (including knowing misrepresentation) may result in account action and may carry legal consequences under applicable law.
6. Other illegal content (global reporting)
For content that appears illegal under applicable law (including intellectual-property infringement outside a formal DMCA notice, scams, threats, CSAM, or other unlawful material), use either:
- The in-app Report control on the message, post, member, assistant, or club (choose the closest reason — including Copyright or IP when that fits — and add details), or
- Email hello@thevibe.chat with subject Illegal content report, a link or clear location of the material, and why you believe it is unlawful
We review reports and may remove content, warn or restrict accounts, or escalate to authorities when required. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first. Community rules and in-app reporting are described in our Community Guidelines.
